Dustin Monk is a 25 year old singer/songwriter out of Brunswick, Georgia that boasts a soulful vocal styling accompanied by adifferent, but exciting mix of musical compositions that include ques from rock&roll, hip hop, blues and country. His music isn’t the only thing that raises a brow, as he’s covered in tattoos from head to toe…well, neck to foot that is…his hair is combed in a throwback sort of style, akin to the likes of James Dean; and his southern drawl is both cryptic and soothing at the same time.
As the former frontman for Florida’s We Still Dream, Dustin has developed a love for performing live and touring the country to share his music and voice. Now with an emerging solo career ahead of him, Monk aims to elevate himself in a big way.
“Whether it be with a band, a group, or by myself, music has always been the one thing in my life that’s constant. It’s the one place in the world where I truly feel myself and I am able to connect with other people. I remember as a kid watching my Grandfather play his guitar and listening to him sing, and no matter what mood I was in the music always took me to a different place. Ever since I knew I wanted to give those same feelings to the world. My music is a melting pot of many genres; blues, soul, hip hop, and rock are all present in what I create. I never want to limit myself to just one genre or style because to me that kills the meaning of art; freedom. I take pride in writing sincere, straight from the heart music and I hope that one day I can reach and inspire as many people as possible with what I do.”
